Texas announce new album 'The Conversation'

Texas have announced the release of their first album in eight years.

The Scottish band, fronted by Sharleen Spiteri, will bring out 'The Conversation' on May 20, preceded by a single of the same name on May 13.

The LP's tracks were co-written by Spiteri and bassist Johnny McElhone, and feature collaborations with singer-songwriter Richard Hawley and Bernard Butler. It was recorded in Glasgow, London and at Hawley's studio in Sheffield.

Texas have sold over 30 million records worldwide, with 1997's 'White On Blonde' going six times platinum in the UK alone. Since the release of their last album 'Red Book' in 2005, Spiteri has unveiled two collections of solo material; 'Melody' in 2008, and 'The Movie Songbook' in 2010.

The band also embarked on a summer tour in 2011, after the recovery of member Ally McErlaine, who suffered a brain aneurysm in September 2009.

Texas will be playing three live shows in Glasgow, London and Paris to support 'The Conversation', with dates to be announced.
