Cheryl Cole says “no place like home” upon return from US

The ‘Under The Sun’ singer flew back in to the UK today after a two week stateside trip to visit dancer boyfriend Tre Holloway in Los Angeles.

Following an extensive reunion tour with now defunct group Girls Aloud, throughout which she was reportedly suffering with the flu, Cole was said to have felt in need of intense recuperation.

Formed after appearing on reality TV show Popstars: The Rivals in 2002 the band became the UK's biggest-selling girl group of the century. After achieving a string of 22 consecutive top 11 singles, including four number 1’s, Girls Aloud have once again split following the culmination of their 10 year reunion tour.

29-year-old Cole has been strangely absent from the media spotlight since, only surfacing again this morning upon return from her travels. She sought to assure fans that her time off had done her the world of good, tweeting:

“So I'm back from my break.. Feel relaxed and refreshed.. Apart from jet lagg bla .. There's no place like home.”

However despite Cole’s insinuation that home in the UK is preferable to being in the states, her Girls Aloud band mate Sarah Harding has recently let slip that Cole might be planning a permanent move to the US. Harding, speaking to the press recently, revealed that:

“Cheryl’s moving back to LA....I’m going to miss her. But I’m probably going to go out there at some point this year, so hopefully we’ll catch up then.”

No doubt such a move would be at least part inspired by a desire to be closer to long term boyfriend Holloway. Cole’s recent visit had clearly been beneficial to him as well, with the dancer choosing to tweet:

“I love her! #backtonormallife. “
