Nick Grimshaw has defended his friendship with One Direction star Harry Styles.

The pair have become good friends over the last couple of years and they have regularly been seen out partying together.

However, their ages - 28 and 19 - have prompted some raised eyebrows, but the Radio 1 DJ told Now that their friendship doen't feel abnormal. He said:

"It's not that weird, is it?"

Grimshaw continued: "It seems totally normal to me: a DJ being mates with a popstar. It's not like he's some weirdo who can't talk. He's really funny. When anyone meets him, it's like, 'Oh yeah, he's really nice and interesting'. And they immediately understand."
