Stooshe on Lily Allen's criticism of 'Waterfalls': 'She never even apologised to us'

Vocal trio Stooshe have opened up about their brief online feud with 'Smile' songstress Lily Cooper (née Allen), who criticised their cover of TLC's 'Waterfalls' publicly last year.

Back in October, Cooper took to her official Twitter page and slammed the girls' rendition of the classic track by posting a message that read, "Jesus h Christ, who dun that TLC cover?"

Stooshe then hit back by tweeting, "not nice when artists you are heavily inspired by and even compared to, criticise you," and they have now spoken to We Love Pop magazine about the online clash:

"We've never met her, but LIly Allen was really rude to us on Twitter about our 'Waterfalls' cover. Future Cut has produced it, who she has worked with her whole career. She tweeted, 'Who the hell did that cover of 'Waterfalls'?' so I tweeted back, 'Us and Future Cut, you know the guys that made your first album'."

"I don't think we're ever gonna see eye to eye now, but I just wanted to let her know," member Karis Anderson added. "You have to be careful as we're all trying to make music and just cos it's not your taste doesn't mean you should criticise it so publicly."

Stooshe's Courtney Rumbold also said: "That was kind of a slap in the face. She didn't even say sorry to us, she just said sorry to Future Cut."
