Caro Emerald debuts at No.1 on the midweek albums chart update

Dutch jazz singer Caro Emerald is on course to score her first ever UK No.1 album with her new offering, 'The Shocking Miss Emerald'.

The record has debuted at the top of the albums chart this afternoon (May 8) during the midweek update and is currently ahead of Rudimental's 'Home' by 3,000 copies, according to the Official Charts Company.

Alison Moyet's 'The Minutes' has made an appearance at 3, Hugh Laurie's 'Didn't It Rain' is a new entry at No.4, and Lady Antebellum's 'Golden' debuted at No.5. The other Top 10 new entry today is from Noah and the Whale with 'Heart Of Nowhere' at No.8.

Little Boots has made a comeback at No.29 with 'Nocturnes', One Direction's 'Take Me Home' is down 9 positions to No.39, and Paramore's self-titled new offering is a non-mover at 33.
