Blue's Duncan James: 'Internet trolls told me they hoped I'd die from AIDS'

Singer Duncan James, who found fame with boyband Blue, has revealed that coming out was tough, but discussing his sexuality publicly on 'The Big Reunion' was even harder because of the threat of cyber bullying.

The 'All Rise' hitmaker came out as bisexual in 2009, but recently admitted to Now magazine that going through that again in 2013 meant there was more chance of a backlash because of the rise of social media, which allows people to anonymously 'bash' others:

"When I first came out I thought people were going to gay bash me and call me a f*ggot walking down the street. That never happened. But these days people can be absolutely vile on Twitter. One troll wrote, 'I hope you get AIDS and die, you f*ggot'."

He also opened up about calling one Twitter user a "pig" back in 2010 after she was rude on the social networking site about his children: "She went to the papers crying because she had issues with the way she looked. I had to do a retraction and say sorry because they were going to print that I was being a bully to her. It was so unfair."
