Backstreet Boys have announced plans to tour the world and release a new album.

The US group, who now have all five original members in their ranks, will head out on the In A World Like This tour from August.

The 20th anniversary jaunt has been announced alongside a new album, which will be their first as a quintet since 2005's 'Never Gone'.

Speaking about the news, Nick Carter told Ryan Seacrest's radio show:

"Backstreet Boys are going on tour this summer. That's right, baby! All five of us are back together. It's our 20th anniversary tour. We've got a brand new album coming out."

Only North American tour dates have been revealed so far, which kick off in Chicago on August 2 before concluding in San Francisco on September 8.
