Carrie Underwood performs with The Rolling Stones

Carrie Underwood is the latest star to perform with The Rolling Stones on their 50 and Counting world tour.

Country music singer Carrie Underwood joined the band on stage during their show at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto last night (May 25).

The 2005 American Idol winner partnered up with The Rolling Stones on their classic 1974 single ‘It’s Only Rock ‘n’ Roll (But I Like It)’.

Following the show, Underwood took to Twitter to share her excitement about her guest appearance with her followers. She almost quickly tweeted:  “I just sang with the ‪@RollingStones! Holy cow! I walked off stage and said, 'What just happened?!' Still can't believe it!”

She went on to say: “8 years ago today, I won @AmericanIdol and tonight, I sang with the @RollingStones! Wow, so much has happened! #Thankful”.

In the run up to her guest spot Underwood kept fans up-to-date via Twitter as she said: “Just had rehearsals! The guys are so great! They made this country girl feel right at home!”

Carrie Underwood is the latest in a long line of high profile names that have made appearances on The Rolling Stones' current tour. Other guest spots have come from the likes of Gwen Stefani, Katy Perry, Dave Grohl, John Mayer and Keith Urban.

The Rolling Stones’ 50 and Counting tour will come to the UK on June 29 when they headline Glastonbury and play two shows at London’s Hyde Park in July.
