Backstreet Boys tell One Direction to stay grounded

The Backstreet Boys have given some wise advice to British stars One Direction and The Wanted.

The veteran US pop group have been in the business for decades and they told heat that the two boybands should always stay true to their fans.

AJ McClean said that they have performed with The Wanted previously and he called on the 'All Time Low' group - and peers One Direction - to keep fans on their side by staying grounded. He said:

"We've played with The Wanted in the US before and this weekend, we played London's G-A-Y club with them and they're great guys.

"If we could give them advice though - to them and One Direction - it would be to to stay grounded. If they're out and a fan asks them for a hug or a picture, do it. It's a small thing to take time out to do and it's those people who will stick with you, loyally, throughout your career."

The Wanted and One Direction meanwhile - who have been the subject of a 'feud' in recent months - are both set to appear in person at the Teen Choice Awards on August 11 in the US.
