Rita Ora 'tried 6 times' to launch a pop career before achieving commercial success

'Shine Ya Light' songstress Rita Ora has revealed that she tried to become a recording artist around 6 times before actually making it in the music industry.

During an interview before her set at the Sony Xperia Access gig in London last month, the beauty explained that fame wasn't something she achieved quickly and fought for a pop career relentlessly after being turned down on multiple occasions:

"There were a lot of times where I thought this was going to be it and then it doesn't happen."

"It happened to me about six times, so when this actually finally happened, I really didn't expect it to at all."

The hitmaker is currently working on her sophomore studio album and added that she can't believe how lucky she has been so far: "I can't believe I'm doing my second album already. To me it's like, 'Finally, thank you for just giving me the chance'."

"I'm actually going to sing about things that are happening to me now. When I was 18, I was performing at 21, so to me it was two-year-old music. What's exciting about this record is that I've just felt like I've found the confidence to be honest."
