Miley Cyrus not worried about her new image alienating fans

Miley Cyrus has spoken out about her new image and the effect it may have on her fans.

Speaking to The Sun newspaper Miley said: “I'm not really worried about alienating fans. Everyone has to work on the things that they don't care about to get where they want to be.”

Cyrus rose to stardom by starring in the Disney show ‘Hannah Montana’ where she played a character who has a double life as a normal teenage girl and a pop star.

Referring to her past career moves the ‘We Can’t Stop’ siren stated: “I had to do that for five years but I knew when I was older I would be able to do what I wanted eventually. Everyone has to work on something they don't love to get to something they do love.”

The 20-year-old starlet also opened up about some of the more controversial aspects of her musical comeback.

When questioned about the reference to “dancing with Molly” in her latest release ‘We Can’t Stop’ – which the song’s producer has denied is an allusion to the slang term for ecstasy but instead name checks Miley herself – Cyrus revealed:

“It depends who's doing what. If you're aged 10 it's 'Miley'; if you know what I'm talking about then you know. I just wanted it to be played on the radio and they've already had to edit it so much.”

She also spoke about the amount of attention the video for 'We Can’t Stop' has received by saying: “The world is in such a f**ked-up place that the last thing we should be worrying about is my cute little video.”
