Morrissey has pulled a tour date in Iceland because the venue won't go vegetarian on the night.

The singer, who is an avid animal rights supporter, was due to perform at the Harpa Concert Hall in Rekjavik on his forthcoming European tour.

However, the Brit has announced that the show is off because the venue won't prohibit the sale of meat on the night.

Morrissey said in a statement: "I love Iceland and I have waited a long time to return, but I shall leave the Harpa Concert Hall to their cannibalistic flesh-eating bloodlust."

No other venue is said to be available in the city.

The singer, however, is still scheduled to hit the UK in March for a number of dates.
