Nicole Scherzinger: "I hid in my dressing room after X Factor death threats"

Nicole Scherzinger has revealed that she received death threats after appearing as a judge on X Factor USA.

The former Pussycat Dolls star signed up to appear on the inaugural series of the American TV talent show in 2011 but it seems some sections of the public weren't too keen on the appointment.

She eventually left the show and landed a seat on the judging panel of the UK show for its new series this year.

Speaking to the Metro, Scherzinger said that one of her current X Factor UK acts Rylan Clark has received threats and she added that it reminds her of her own experiences. She said:

"It breaks my heart. Last year, I had death threats on X Factor USA. It kind of ruined me. I told them [the producers] I didn't wanna leave my room. It really frightened and scared me when I got death threats. It upsets me to hear that Rylan had to go through that...to read some of the comments that he has had."

Scherzinger added: "I didn't know people could conjure up such thoughts...so hateful. So I just have to say a prayer for people like that. It's not positive. These are just ignorant, uneducated people."
