Nicole Scherzinger talks high expectations

X Factor beauty Nicole Scherzinger has joked there's "something wrong with [her]" as she's never won a Grammy Award.

The 34-year-old star found fame in one of the best-selling girl groups of all time, the Pussycat Dolls, before embarking on a successful solo career last year.

Scherzinger says that despite riding high in the charts, she's still disappointed that she's never scooped of the most coveted gongs in the music business.

She explained: "You’re looking at a girl who has always put really high expectations on herself. When I was young, I said that if I don’t get a Grammy by the time I’m 22, there’s something wrong with me.”

She laughingly added: “So I guess there’s something wrong with me.”

Scherzinger has enjoyed an on-off relationship with Lewis Hamilton since 2008, and the star has defended the pair's much talked-about romance.

She told The Times: “People always say, ‘Don’t date other people in the industry,’ but it’s the world that you’re around. You only get to meet so many people when you’re in this business. And if you’re successful and in a position of power and you’re around other successful people with power, you’re naturally attracted to that.

She added: “I’m in a position of high profile and power, and I’m attracted to the No 1 F1 driver in the world. Because he’s so talented. That’s natural.”
