Nicole Scherzinger wants a "piece" of One Direction

Nicole Scherzinger has admitted that she is "sad" she isn't credited with the formation of One Direction.

The singer was a guest judge on the X Factor when the group were pieced together from solo contestants back in 2010.

Scherzinger has often claimed that she was the one who suggested grouping the five young singers together - but it seems supremo Simon Cowell is taking the credit.

Speaking to the Daily Star, the now permanent judge said that she is a little "sad" inside that she a part of the One Direction business. The 'Wet' star said about how she helped form the band:

"Simon Cowell forgets that too, or he's trying to forget that. I think they said the footage of me suggesting it mysteriously disappeared!"

She continued: "I just thought: 'Wow, these boys!'. None of them were strong enough to make it through, but they'd make a killer group. All the girls are going to want to see these guys in a band together. And look at what they've done. I'm just really sad that I don't have a piece of it!"
