Susan Boyle shooting Xmas video next week in LA

Susan Boyle is filming her Christmas video next week in Los Angeles.

The music video will be directed by Mark Pellington, and a Hollywood casting call went out this week for ‘real British kids (3-7)’.

With prior copyright problems resolved, it seems likely the first single will be ‘Perfect Day’, the Lou Reed song often thought to be about heroin but easily reimagined as something entirely innocent. Which presumably is the goal here!

Other songs on the album include ‘The First Noel’, ‘O Holy Night’ and ‘Away in a Manger’ plus covers of Leonard Cohen's ‘Hallelujah’ and Crowded House's 'Don't Dream It's Over'. Pellington directed the excellent 'Arlington Road' starring Jeff Bridges and Tim Robbins and has directed music videos for U2, INXS, The Fray and Keane amongst others.

Boyle releases her Christmas album 'The Gift' on November 9.
