Queens Of The Stone Age to finish new album this year

Queens Of The Stone Age are making great progress with their forthcoming album and admit it will be finished before the year's out.

The band's frontman, Josh Homme, explained to BBC's Radio 1 that as soon as they get back to the U.S they will return to the studio to work on the record:

"We're going to take our one last break that we would get for a month, come back and do Glastonbury, then immediately jump in the studio. Our record will be done by the end of the year. We have enough songs."

Unlike most bands at the moment, they won't be shocking fans with a new sound because they don't feel the need to reinforce their musical prowess:

"We're at a weird moment where we really don't feel like we have anything to prove. We just want to play to the people that are into us and we want to play right at them."
