Robbie Williams says his last album was "half-arsed"

Robbie Williams has admitted that his last album 'Reality Killed The Video Star' wasn't quite up to scratch.

The singer released the album in 2009 and the record was his first release that didn't hit No.1 in the UK albums chart.

He soon after rejoined Take That and embarked on a hugely successful stint with the boyband.

Speaking to Digital Spy, Williams suggested that his last album could have endangered his career. He said:

"With 'Reality Killed The Video Star'...I had intentionally and unintentionally not managed to write a hit."

The 'Candy' man continued: "It threw my confidence. I say you can't go into things half-arsed, and I didn't realise that. It's very important that you get absolutely every album right, otherwise it could literally be the end of your career."

Williams is due to release new album 'Take The Crown' on November 5.
