Robyn enjoys U.S. sales boost after Golden Globes

Songstress Robyn saw a significant rise in sales of her single 'Dancing On My Own' following the Golden Globes awards ceremony on Sunday (January 13).

The song was used during a scene from the popular U.S. series 'Girls', which was aired on April 29 last year, and was used at the ceremony when it was announced that the show had won two prizes (shown below).

Billboard has since reported that sales of 'Dancing On My Own' tripled on Sunday, which helped it to shift 7,000 copies in the week ending January 13.

Following the original airing of the episode that Robyn's song features in, it sold an impressive 23,000 copies in the two weeks after it was on television.

When the news broke that Girls had won two awards, which were for Best Television Series - Musical or Comedy and Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series - Musical or Comedy, Robyn took to her Twitter page and congratulated the show's cast: "A big congratulations to @girlsHBO for the #goldenglobes"
