Swedish students make robot inspired by Robyn

A group of mechatronics students at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm, Sweden were visited by pop sensation Robyn last week after they revealed plans to build a robot that is inspired by her.

During her visit to KTH, the 'Hang With Me' songstress discussed with pupils how the machine should move along with how it should look and it was revealed that the project is due to be completed in January 2014.

A blog post by the students explains their decision to base the animatronic creation on the star, who has previously written tracks called 'Fembot' and 'Robotboy': "So why is Kth gong to build a robot in honour of Robyn? One reason, of course, is that she seems to like robots. Another reason is that she makes electronic music."

"And then, she also has the ambition to break new ground, just like some of you who might have plans to invent something or start a company. So, the robot will be a celebration of Robyn and people who go their own way."
