Tom Ryder releases new single 'Desk Job'

New track is taken from recent 'Strings Attached' EP

Essex-based singer-songwriter Tom Ryder has unveiled 'Desk Job,' the new single lifted from his recent 'Strings Attached' EP. The energetic three minute track offers a tongue-in-cheek exploration of the daily 9 to 5 grind alongside infectious folk-pop melodies & soaring vocals.

A musician since his teenage years, Tom has enjoyed a stellar start to his career as a solo artist. Influenced by classic singer-songwriter staples John Martyn, Damien Rice & Tracy Chapman, his songs have been quick to make an impression with influential media tastemakers. BBC Introducing in Cambridge, BBC Essex and BBC Three Counties Radio have playlisted Tom’s songs and invited him in for live sessions, and the EP title track 'Strings Attached' has already been heard on the airwaves of 39 BBC regional stations as Track Of The Week on the Mark Forrest Show. Last year’s beautiful charity single 'Silence Breaking Through Sound' not only showcased heartfelt, emotive songwriting and raised over £9000 for Macmillan Cancer Support, but also gained celebrity praise & approval from Chris Evans and Rod Stewart when they watched a live performance of the song. Despite the life experience as a part-time journalist he brings to the wry lyrics of 'Desk Job,' it’s surely only a matter of time before Tom Ryder is known for a very different full-time profession as a talented singer-songwriter.

Tom will be playing shows & festivals in support of the EP this summer. For more info, head to http://www.tomaryder.com.
