Taylor Swift turned to music because she wasn't getting invited to parties

Taylor Swift has admitted that she started writing music because she wasn't getting invited to parties.

The singer is well-known for singing about failed relationships and it seems she vented her frustration about being lonely into her songs.

Speaking to the Daily Star, Swift said:

"I started writing songs because I wasn't invited to parties and sleepovers. I wasn't noticed by the guy I like."

She added: "Writing songs has taught me a lot. One of the hardest lessons to learn in life is there's sometimes nothing you can do to make someone like you if they don't. It's okay to let that go."

Swift meanwhile is due to conclude her run at London's O2 Arena with two dates tonight (February 10) and Tuesday (February 11).
