The names of the artists who have been nominated in the MTV European Music Awards were unveiled earlier today (September 17) and Taylor Swift is up for an impressive 5 prizes.

Upon discovering the exciting news, the 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together' superstar took to her official Twitter page to express her "disbelief" and amazement:

"Just found out about the 5 MTV Europe Awards nominations!! IS THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENING?? I seriously just paced around the room in disbelief."

"I'm so excited. I'm so excited. I'm so excited. I love you guys. I might hyperventilate. I'm so excited."

Swift then returned to the social networking site and encouraged her own followers to vote for her "buddy" Ed Sheeran, who she recently collaborated with, as he is in the running for the Best UK and Ireland Act title: "Just looked at the nominees- my buddy @edsheeran is nominated for an EMA too! PARTY."

The 2012 MTV EMAs is set to take place on November 11 in Frankfurt, Germany, and voting is open from now until November 9. Watch her latest music video below:
