Nathan Sykes says one of the most redeeming aspects of going solo is his chance to now pour his emotions out into song.

The singer was one of five members of The Wanted before they split last year.

He is due to release his debut solo album later this year and the Brit answered fan questions today (July 21) on Twitter after performing on Good Morning America.

When asked what his favourite thing about releasing his own album is, Sykes replied:

"I get to tell my story through music."

The singer meanwhile also said that he love would to go back in time to when England won the football World Cup in 1966.
