One Direction have achieved yet another career milestone

Boyband One Direction have achieved yet another milestone in their incredible collective career this afternoon.

The heartthrobs have now reached Gold certification with their single 'Drag Me Down', which features on their latest record 'Made In The AM'. The exciting news was shared by the British Phonographic Industry earlier today in a tweet that read: ‘Drag Me Down’ by @OneDirection has gone Gold. Congrats!"

Gold certification of a single in the UK means that it has passed sales of 400,000 copies. Their new album, 'Made In The AM', was certified Silver in November

Member Louis Tomlinson recently told Jonathan Ross that Zayn Malik's decision to quit didn't come as much of a surprise to them as they could see he wasn't enjoying it as much:

"You know, I think we all kind of noticed that he wasn't thoroughly enjoying it and we were and you know it can be an intense job at times and I think it got a little bit too much for him and he wanted to be in a different place and that's fair enough and he's got his own way now so fair dos."
