One Direction's Zayn Malik has taken to his official Twitter page to thank his fans for being so supportive about his recent engagement to Little Mix beauty Perrie Edwards.

When asked about the happy news during interviews this week, Malik seemed to be lacking enthusiasm for the sake of maintaining his privacy, but he has now posted an adorable message via Twitter (August 23) expressing his love for his new fiancée.

He wrote: "Never been more happy in my life ! Thank you to everyone that has been so lovely about my engagement to my beautiful fiancée! Big love Z X"

Edwards's brother also shared the sentiment and posted a message of congratulations on his Twitter page on Wednesday, August 21: "Right, My sister and Zayn ARE Engaged! It's true! You seen the ring on the finger and all that Jazz! CONGRATS!!! Can I just say to the majority of the #directioners thanks for the support and kind words! I'm sure Zayn will be very happy!"
