Red Hot Chili Peppers confirm UK stadium gigs for 2012

Red Hot Chili Peppers have announced that they will return to the UK next summer to play 2 huge stadium shows. 

The 'Californication' rockers will headline Knebworth Park in Hertfordshire on June 23 before playing to fans at Sunderland's Stadium of Light the following day, June 24. They will also perform for fans in Dublin on June 26 at Croke Park.

They released their latest album, 'I'm With You', earlier this year and it went straight to the top of the UK charts. 

This exciting news comes after drummer Chad Smith recently explained to BBC's Newsbeat that the band wanted to coordinate their 2012 UK gigs with the forthcoming Olympics

Tickets for the shows are due to go on sale at 9am on Friday, November 4 and you can watch behind-the-scenes footage from the Chilis' last tour below:
