The Vamps' Brad Simpson and Connor Ball recall their student days

British pop-rock boyband The Vamps have enjoyed incredible success in the music world, but two of the members revealed that they weren't always as motivated as they are now and didn't really take school too seriously.

During a new interview with Top of the Pops magazine, bass player Connor Ball admitted that he wasn't a bad student but did tend to leave things until the last minute: "I never had a detention but I was lazy. I did all my homework on the bus on the way to school. It was a long journey though, about 45 minutes, so that's OK, isn't it?"

Frontman Brad Simpson also revealed what he was like at school and added that he got a few detentions as a result of his timekeeping: "I wasn't a naughty child but I did get lots of detentions for being late. I hated getting out of bed in the morning - and I still do."
