Iconic Irish rock band, U2, will perform on American Idol after their manager let it slip during an interview. 

The rumour that the 'Elevation' stars would appear on one of the final two shows began to circulate a couple of weeks and while talking to Billboard, Paul McGuinness accidentally confirmed the speculation:

"We've got Idol rehearsal tomorrow, maybe that's supposed to be a secret, then, yes, the Idol finale is Wednesday."

Lady Gaga will also perform on the show and tweeted last night (May 22) to her fans:

"Don't worry you'll see me soon. I'm performing on THE AMERICAN IDOL FINALE! :)"
