Beyoncé alters 'Single Ladies' lyrics to support marriage equality

Beyoncé has shown her support for same-sex marriage by changing the lyrics to her hit track 'Single Ladies'.

California is currently discussing the controversial Proposition 8, which is looking for a ban on gay marriage.

The singer showed her disapproval of the motion by uploading a photo on her Facebook of a simple handwritten note.

It reads: "If you like it you should be able to put a ring on it. WeWillUniteForMarriageEquality."

The original song's lyrics attempted to empower females and was released in 2008.

As previously reported, Beyoncé was recently confirmed to headline an outdoor London show in June in support of women's rights.
