Chris Brown has probation revoked after alleged car offences

Chris Brown has had his probation revoked.

The US singer has been on probation since assaulting then girlfriend Rihanna in 2009 but it has been affected by his alleged involvement in a recent hit and run incident.

The other party in the said incident does not want to press charges against the 'Don't Judge Me' star but the logistics of the case means Brown's probation has to be revoked.

A spokesman for the singer said: "This morning in court in Van Nuys, the lawyer for the driver in the hit and run case, clearly specified that his client did not want to press charges, that any damage was "negligible" and that Chris did identify himself at the scene and that she was given all of the appropriate insurance information.

"We are hopeful that the case will be dismissed next week. Based on this new charge, as required by law, Judge Brandlin who is supervising Mr Brown's probation is required to revoke Chris' probation. However, once the Van Nuys case is dismissed, we expect this matter to be resolved and his probation to be reinstated on the same terms and conditions. Chris was released on his own recognizance today by both judges."

The alleged hit and run took place on May 21 in Los Angeles after Brown reportedly hit into the back of another car. Prosecutors say the singer failed to provide a valid licence at the scene.

Brown previously took to Twitter to stress that there was no damage to either car, even taking photos in attempt to prove it.

He is reportedly due to appear in court in August to learn whether he violated his probation.
