Justin Bieber's pastor: 'I first looked at him and thought he'd be a real challenge to work with'

Carl Lentz, the pastor of troubled Canadian sensation Justin Bieber, has revealed that when he first met the superstar he thought he really had his work cut out, but he is pleased that the youngster has begun a journey of change.

Bieber is currently wanted by Argentinian police for questioning over an alleged attack on a local photographer and has been given 60 days to turn himself in, and recently had to hand over $80,000 for throwing eggs at a neighbour's house.

Speaking to the New York Post, Lentz explained: "I remember (when I first met him) just looking at him and going, 'This is going to be a challenge'... And that day being like, 'I'm going to pray for this boy to make it'... I have a special role in Justin's life, spiritually, but... I'm not a life-motivational guy... We're talking about making sure his life remains a blessing, not a burden... He's on a journey. If he's not doing good, should we abandon him?"

Bieber, meanwhile, recently won the Best Male at the 2014 MTV European Music Awards and has since dropped a collaborative song with Australian heartthrob Cody Simpson, so things are turning around for the 'As Long As You Love Me' hitmaker
