Gerard Way: 'I miss the theatricality of My Chemical Romance'

Former My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way, who launched a solo career earlier this year, has revealed that he misses the 'theatrical' elements of his old band and would be interested in bringing those to his new act.

Speaking about doing a concept album or making his material 'more visual', the star explained: "Now that I've gotten not doing something theatrical out of my system, I feel like it would be nice to get back into concepts again, maybe explore some more visual stuff."

Way, meanwhile, is set to head to the UK for a small series of concerts in January and ex-Lostprophets members in a new band called No Devotion will provide support for the three gigs (January 20 at the Birmingham O2 Academy, January 21 at the O2 Guildhall in Southampton and January 23 at the Brixton O2 Academy in London).

He recently confessed that his label were unsure of his solo songs because they sounded so different from the music that helped him make a name for himself

"Me doing fun stuff freaked people out. Some people almost recoiled from the more fun songs. Like, 'God, we can't sell this stuff! He's become happy! What are we gonna do?!' The best part of this whole record is that I never really started making music seriously," he claims. "I think that’s what I liked about it."
