Amber Riley on 'Dreamgirls' role: 'I'll prove my greatness to those who underestimated me'Singer and former "Glee" star Amber Riley will step into a leading role in the West End adaptation of 'Dreamgirls' very soon and she can't wait. During a new interview with the Gay Times, she explained that it will be great to show people the full scope of what she can do: "I love when people underestimate me because I love it when you get to prove your own greatness. I love hearing the expectations that others have of me as I’m gonna surprise them all. Yes, it makes me nervous, but I’m taking the responsibility very seriously.” She added: “Theatre is appreciated differently here in London and the calibre of actors that do plays and musicals here is an honour.
