Nickelodeon have confirmed rumours that they've signed up One Direction.

Although details are vague at the moment, the US TV channel tweeted confirmation that they have signed up the British boyband for a "development project".

It seems like it will be a "live-action" project, with the network welcoming One Direction into the Nickelodeon "family".

They tweeted: "The rumors are true, our live-action slate does include a development project for @onedirection. Welcome to the family!"

Nickelodeon is the home of Big Time Rush, who One Direction have been out in the US supporting on tour.

Big Time Rush had previously stated that themselves and One Direction were due to record a video together at some point in the future.
