Solange cancels all summer festival appearances

Solange has cancelled all of her upcoming European festival dates.

The singer, who is the sister of Beyoncé, is said to have pulled a series of summer shows as a result of family issues and needing time to work on new material.

Pukkelpop, where Solange was due to perform on August 15, said in a post on their website that the singer has shelved all of her summer dates. They included an apology from Solange, who said:

"I am completely devastated to announce that I will be cancelling my international festival dates for the Summer. I wish I could put in words how much of a difficult decision this was...but between moving part time to a new city, starting my son in a new school, and writing/recording my new record...I really had to make the best decision for my mental/physical health and provide some stability for my family.

"I am so so sooooo sorry if I've disappointed......and really hope to make it out to those special cities soon enough!”

Finland's Flow Festival meanwhile also issued a statement confirming that Solange will not be playing their event, adding that she has cancelled her entire summer European tour.

Her festival dates were due to run from August 1 to August 15, with a show at London's KOKO scheduled for August 16.
