5 Seconds of Summer frontman Luke Hemmings has apologised after the group cancelled two upcoming shows.

As previously reported, the Australians recently pulled dates in Portugal and Denmark.

They were part of One Direction's Where We Are tour and the June and July slots were cancelled because of 'unforeseen circumstances'.

Singer Luke Hemmings took to Twitter to apologise to his fans, saying:

"I am very sorry to Copenhagen and Portugal, we love you lots and we hope to be back soon."

The band meanwhile are due to resume their support tour in Sweden on Friday (June 13).
