5SOS' Ashton Irwin used to be band organiser: 'I felt like I had a whip'
5 Seconds of Summer drummer Ashton Irwin says he originally took on the role as band organiser.
The sticksman was the last member to join the Australian pop-punks, who formed in school.
Speaking to Billboard, Irwin says he took it on himself to act as a leader in the group when others lost focus.
He said: "I felt like I had a whip.
"I’d be like, ‘You have to come to rehearsals because we sound like sh*t!’.
"‘Where the f*** is Calum?’ ‘Michael, get off the computer!’ ‘Luke, what do you mean your mom wants to pick you up now?!’."
5 Seconds of Summer meanwhile will release their second album 'Sounds Good Feels Good' on October 23.
