Alicia Keys to perform at the Super Bowl

Vocal sensation Alicia Keys is set to sing America's national anthem at the 2013 Super Bowl next month.

Billboard announced today (January 18) that the 'Girl On Fire' superstar will lend her voice to the NFL championship game on February 3 in New Orleans by treating the live crowd and viewers at home to a rendition of 'The Star Spangled Banner'. It also added that the news was confirmed by an anonymous "person familiar with Super Bowl entertainment plans" and that the NFL is yet to address the report.

Beyoncé was last year named as the performer for the world-famous half time show and recently explained that she feels a connection to the sporting event because of her work ethic:

"One of the reasons I connect to the Super Bowl is that I approach my shows like an athlete. You know how they sit down and watch whoever they're going to play and study themselves? That's how I treat this."
