Kimberley Walsh: "Girls Aloud will never split up"

Girls Aloud star Kimberley Walsh has suggested that the band has a future beyond their 10th anniversary reunion.

The popular group announced on Friday (October 19) that they were getting back together for a greatest hits album and a 2013 arena tour.

Speaking to BBC Newsbeat, Walsh - who is currently starring on Strictly Come Dancing - said that Cheryl Cole's assertions in her new autobiography that Girls Aloud would disband after the reunion might be a little outdated. The singer said:

"I don't think we're ever going to split up. I don't think any of us know what's going to happen after the tour. That's as far as we've planned for now. Cheryl wrote the book a long time ago. She obviously wrote it before any of the music, before we had anything in place".

Walsh added: "Whether we go back to doing our solo projects for a while, then come back together again…we'll see how it goes and leave it open. We're in a really privileged position where we can be like, 'Let's do that for while, let's do that for while'. It's the Take That way - it works really well."
