Harry Styles’ “As It Was” Stays Atop Billboard Hot 100

Harry Styles' "As It Was" spends a seventh week atop the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart. The track debuted in April at No. 1., becoming his second number-one single on the chart following "Watermelon Sugar" in August 2020.

The track is the lead single from the British superstar's chart-topping new album Harry’s House, which was released via Columbia Records on May 20. The song was written by Styles alongside the song's producers Kid Harpoon and Tyler Johnson.

According to Luminate, "As It Was" tallied 77 million radio airplay audience impressions, 22.4 million streams and 6,000 downloads sold in the June 10-16 tracking week.

The song remains at No. 2 after four weeks atop the Radio Songs chart, No. 3 after two weeks atop Streaming Songs and falls 4-10 on Digital Song Sales, following a week on top. Notably, "As It Was" debuts at No. 37 on Alternative Airplay, marking Styles' first appearance on the ranking. The song tops Pop Airplay for a sixth week and Adult Pop Airplay for a fifth frame, rises 8-7 on Adult Contemporary and stays at No. 16 on Adult Alternative Airplay.

The track spends a third week atop Billboard's Songs of the Summer chart, after the seasonal ranking returned two weeks ago.

Styles is also the latest artist this year to score the relatively rare UK Official Chart Double, as his third solo record Harry’s House and blockbuster hit both reached No. 1 on the Official Albums and Singles Chart. Harry's House is so far the fastest-selling album of 2022 in the UK.

The LP is the third solo album from the former One Direction star. His self-titled debut was released in 2017, two years after the hugely popular U.K. boy band went on their hiatus.
