Lorde: 'I get paralyzingly nervous a lot of times'

Singer Lorde has revealed that she isn't as outwardly confident as she seems and sometimes gets so nervous that she finds it hard to move.

The 'Royals' star explained to the Rolling Stone that she still suffers from anxiety surrounding her career: "I get paralyzingly nervous a lot of times. The way I dress and carry myself, a lot of people find it intimidating."

She added that the one thing she finds useful in battling the crippling nervousness is reminding herself of her own power and strength:

"I think my whole career can be boiled down to the one word I always say in meetings: strength."

Earlier this month, Lorde told the press that she still feels 'alone' despite being constantly surrounded by people and feels a little ostracised at school with the other girls:

"I feel like I'm alone a lot. Partly because I'm in high school and there are people being quite cliquey. Girls are particularly weird. I love to observe how they process the high school situation. Over the last couple of months I've just started to realise that, wow, people in the real world don't care if your legs aren't perfect."
