McFly have admitted that fellow pop group One Direction are more likely to stay up late and party than they are.

The two acts have something of a friendship it seems, with McFly writing songs for both of One Direction's albums.

However, it appears that the 'One Thing' stars are more up for a party - especially Irishman Niall Horan.

In an interview with heat - who made the band dress up as old men for the accompanying photoshoot - Tom Fletcher said:

"They're probably more rock 'n' roll than we are. Niall's a funny guy."

Bandmate Harry Judd added: "Me and Danny had a late night with Niall. I went to bed at 3.30am... Tom was on his balcony and Niall said, 'Tom, come play some songs!' You were angry at the situation, because you wanted to go to bed."
