McFly kick off Christmas in London

Pop rock four-piece McFly battled the adverse weather conditions to kick off Christmas in central London today (November 24).

The popular band - comprising Tom Fletcher, Danny Jones, Dougie Poynter and Harry Judd - took to the stage in the busy Oxford Circus area of the city to perform some of their greatest hits to adoring fans.

Dressed in matching dapper brown suits, the band braved the wind and rain to sing some of their most-loved hits including 'Obviously' and '5 Colours In Her Hair' to eager Christmas shoppers.

Talking of their own Christmas shopping plans, Jones told ITV News: "I actually started last night online and I've got a few things that are in the line up to be potentials."

Poynter added: "I've been doing some shopping online too. And I've sent it all to your house, Tom."

After the gig, Fletcher took to Twitter to thank fans for turning out to see them: "Thanks to everyone that braved the cold and rain to see us play at Oxford Street, happy shopping! And a massive thanks to the 200... dancers who put in their time and hard work to pull off the dance to Love Is Easy. Looked awesome! (sic)."

Judd cheekily continued: "I've just been researching what I want!"

The band's compilation album Memory Lane: The Best Of McFly hits shelves on Monday (November 26).
