One Direction star Zayn Malik has revealed his pride at seeing Little Mix storm the US charts.

The girl group released their latest album 'Salute' in the States on Monday (February 4) and it instantly shot to No.1 on the iTunes list.

The band, who feature Malik's fiancée Perrie Edwards, have since slipped to No.5 - but the One Direction man couldn't contain his excitement.

He made a rare appearance on Twitter to post: "So proud of my baby !! Download the tune and keep it @ #1 !! :) xx."

Little Mix's debut album 'DNA' meanwhile reached No.4 in the US last year.

It remains to be seen, however, if 'Salute' will top that benchmark.
