One Direction star Niall Horan has lent his weight to a new charity campaign.

A number of celebrities have filmed themselves being dunked in a bucket of ice to raise awareness for neurodegenerative illness ALS.

Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber have all undertook the challenge, with many also pledging money the cause.

One Direction's Horan has now joined in too, uploading a video onto Vimeo.

He also challenged bandmate Louis Tomlinson, tennis star Novak Djokovic and footballer John Terry to do the same.
