One Direction star Harry Styles has given his thoughts on rumours linking him to US President Barack Obama.

The singer is regularly the subject of romance rumours, but a recent US tabloid report suggested he had a gay affair with Obama.

The Brit was quizzed about this nugget of gossip at the BBC Music Awards on Thursday night (December 11) and he replied:

"I've heard some good ones in my time but that...that's interesting..."

Louis Tomlinson added: "Does that give you some power in the White House then? Maybe."

The group meanwhile performed at the event, which was held at Earls Court in London.
