Jay Z says he can make Harry Styles the biggest solo artist in a year

Jay Z has revealed that he's offered to help One Direction's Harry Styles crossover from boyband superstar to solo artist.

In a recent interview with the Daily Star Sunday, the rapper and entrepreneur said: "Harry doesn’t need any help with exposure, everybody in the world knows who he is. But he does need to make the transition from being part of a group to becoming an individual artist.

"I can get him working with the bigger artists, the biggest producers – and have him as the biggest artist in the world within a year.”

He added: "I would love to sign Harry. Simon is going to want to carry on working with him, of course. But we could do a joint venture – we both have big qualities we can bring to the table."

It was reported recently that the frontman has already written four new songs for a potential solo album.

Styles has registered the tracks, called 'Already Home', 'Coco', 'Endlessly' and '5378 Miles', with the performing rights organisation ASCAP, the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers.

He shares co-writing credits for the songs with Snow Patrol guitarist John McDaid and songwriter and producer Gary Go, but all four songs listed Styles as the sole performer.

One Direction are now on a hiatus after their farewell performance on The X Factor on December 13.
