One Direction's Louis Tomlinson splats fan's face with ice cream, the group warn of tropical storm on tour

The One Direction heartthrobs have opened up about a particularly entertaining fan encounter that left a girl covered in ice cream.

Speaking to OK! magazine, member Louis Tomlinson revealed that while the group were in Italy they were approached for autographs and photos, and he decided to liven up the situation by 'splatting' the treat all over the face of one of his admirers:

"In Italy, there was a girl who recognised us and we had a picture taken with her. Then out of pure randomness I decided to splat my ice cream on her face - and she kept it there."

Tomlinson added: "I saw her two hours later at our signing and she still hadn't wiped it!"

Liam Payne also recently spoke about how crazy their 'Directioners' can get and explained that he often finds himself stumbling over underwear that has been thrown onto the stage during their concerts:

"Yes, we've nearly fallen over knickers on stage. I like knickers."

The lads are due to head to Florida on their current U.S. tour in the next few days and member Niall Horan took to social networking site Twitter to warn his followers to "please be safe" if they're travelling to see them perform:

"Watching the news, debby is hitting florida hard, everyone please be safe, we are comin in a couple of days."
