One Direction star Liam Payne has thanked fans after the band picked up a number of Teen Choice awards.

The ceremony was held in California on Sunday night (July 22) with One Direction landing three awards.

Payne took to Twitter today (July 23) to thank his "incredible" fans for voting for the group. He said:

"Hello everyone what a sunny day I gotta get on here more I'm gettin lazy aha :) we've all been there..."

He continued: "Also can't believe our luck at the teen awards again you guys are increadable love you all so sooo much."

Niall Horan also tweeted: "Also guys, we are soo happy ,we won 3 awards at teen choice last night! Thank you all soo much for everything you do for us! Its amazing."

One Direction meanwhile are today also celebrating their '2nd birthday', with the band coming together on the X Factor back in July 2010.
